| This watercolor
painting is of an Amish barn near Heuvelton, NY. Two horses
near the barn door, one being harnessed by his Amish owner, with
his buggy waiting to be strolled down the road is a common
site in certain areas of the north country.
Heuvelton and DePuyster are home to many Amish families
who sell craft items, aprons, bread and pastries.
This Amish residence is supported by the sawn lumber of its
lumber mill, always run by generator and not with grid electricity.
The blue-grey sky and reflection on the roof, the weathered
barn wood and cut lumber give this a rustic feel. The
Amish buggy, farmer and horses give it character.
